Bidding adieu to the dog days of summer;
Hello autumn
WECOME TO THE FALL issue of Minnesota Moments. An autumnal grandeur is about to explode around us. We hope this issue of the magazine brings as much freshness and color to your home as the outdoors is unveiling.
The cover photo for this issue was taken by photographer Cindy Goerger, who recently moved into an old farmhouse near Cold Spring with her husband and family.
Goerger has built a photo studio on the property to house the business, Jennings Distinct Images—Lifestyle Photography, that she and her partner Eve Justin have operated since 2005.
In the cover photo and on this spread are Goerger’s 4-year-old son and his dog, Buddy. When the Goergers purchased their hobby farm, they were fortunate enough also to get Buddy in the deal.
“Buddy and Nolan have become fast friends,” said Goerger, who will be taking pictures for Minnesota Moments in the next few months while our regular staff photographer, Stuart Goldschen, spends a few months in Austria. We will miss Stuart but he no doubt will come back with a treasure trove of pictures that we hope to share with you in a future edition of this magazine.
This issue is full of great stories, including a package by Audrey Kletscher Helbling from the city of Austin. If you have not discovered the SPAM Museum there, then consider a visit to this southeastern Minnesota city.
Oh, and this issue also features all your favorites, from books to garages, food and recipes to submitted essays and photographs. Enjoy.
