Happy
holidays from Minnesota Moments
Thanks to early deadlines, it is a humid 80-degree September day as
I write this.
I’m trying to imagine what it will be like in November and December when this edition of the magazine is in your hands. Will your fingers be cold from the frigid temperatures? Will they be sore from shoveling snow or toasty warm from cradling a mug of hot chocolate or your favorite coffee?
I hope you are slowly getting into the holiday spirit and are looking forward to family gatherings during the next two months.
Please introduce your family and friends to this magazine. One of the reasons we have grown to have subscribers around the state as well as in all parts of the country is because of Minnesotans who now live in faraway places such as Hawaii and Canada, Florida and Arizona, not to mention in almost every other state in the union. We even have readers serving in Afghanistan and Iraq, as can be seen by reading our Letters to the Editor page where four young Minnesotans serving their country are pictured.
Receiving Minnesota Moments for those Minnesotans now living elsewhere is like “receiving a bit of Minnesota in my mailbox,” one reader wrote to me a while back.
We hope our stories in this edition about a house decorated for the holidays,
Minnesota-made gifts and our photo essay of a Christmas Eve celebration
held in a barn give all of you, no matter where you live, a little dose
of Minnesota holiday spirit.
