from the publishers
Season’s greetings and welcome to the holiday edition of Minnesota Moments.
We are delighted to showcase the work of artist Bonnie Mohr on this year’s cover. Bonnie and her husband, John, are the parents of five children. They live and work on a farm near Glencoe.
We’ve wanted Bonnie to be a part of Minnesota Moments for a couple of years now. We’ve long been impressed with her work. After meeting her and the family, we’re even more impressed.
Bonnie becomes the fourth artist who has painted a picture of a red barn (saluting our parent company, redBarn Publishing, Inc.) for our holiday cover. The tradition began in 2004 when David Neron of Sauk Rapids painted our inaugural holiday cover. The next year, Joyce Young of Hutchinson did the honors. And last year, Ruth McGrath of Sartell was chosen.
Each year the artist chosen is featured in the magazine. Bonnie’s story appeared in our September/October issue.
Like Santa’s sack, this magazine is filled with all kinds of other goodies as well. We have a story about comfort foods that is sure to warm you as the temperatures turn colder.
We also offer you a feature on a log home as well as a compelling story by Audrey Kletscher Helbling about one man’s story of survival when he was caught in the 35W bridge collapse this summer.
We hope you enjoy Bonnie’s painting and this issue of Minnesota Moments. And, we extend the best to all of you this holiday season from our family at Minnesota Moments.
