Welcome to Minnesota Moments’ first holiday issue.

Work on this issue began a year ago, before our first publication hit newsstands and subscribers’ mailboxes.

Back then, as we decorated Christmas trees and photographed and wrote stories about holiday decorating, we could barely imagine what this issue of Minnesota Moments would look like.

This is our fifth issue and like people who have hosted multiple holiday gatherings for family and friends, we’ve learned a thing or two about staying cool under pressure.

It was about this time a year ago that many of you heard about our magazine for the first time. We sent letters to folks we knew who we thought might be interested in buying a subscription to a new magazine. We said it would be of local interest, high in quality and different from anything else available in Central Minnesota.

Many of you responded by ordering subscriptions for a magazine that was still four months from publication. And not only that, you also ordered gift subscriptions in numbers that humbled us.

We hope you’ve been happy with the first year of Minnesota Moments. We have many things to be thankful for as we say good-bye to 2004 and look ahead to 2005. Thank you, loyal readers, for being a part of our success. Without you, this would not have been possible.

Putting this issue together has been like wrapping a Christmas present for a friend. We looked for just the right wrapping paper. In this case, the “wrap” was provided by artist David Neron of Sauk Rapids. David’s wonderful painting graces our cover.

The ingredients that went into the rest of the magazine were carefully chosen, just the way a holiday meal would be prepared.

Enjoy, and happy holidays.
