On The Cover: Sauk Rapids artist David Neron created this limited edition painting for our November/December cover. Because it is the first holiday issue for Minnesota Moments, published by redBARN Publishing Co. Inc., we thought it would be appropriate to begin a holiday tradition. Each year Minnesota Moments will feature work by a local artist on its Nov./Dec. cover. We will print a limited edition of these signed prints. The selected artist will choose a charity for the proceeds of the sale of the print. This year proceeds go to the Tri-County Humane Society.

David and Charlotte Neron discovered their talent for art in entirely different ways.

David, who creates breathtaking Minnesota landscapes primarily in acrylic paint, has been an artist since he was an elementary student. In fact, he credits art with being responsible for him “making it through” school.

Charlotte, a potter, didn’t discover her hidden talent for art until she was an adult. She didn’t take any classes in high school. She remembers one point in her educational process when an English teacher “planted a vase on a desk and said ‘draw this.’ “ Today, the two of them own and operate the Neron Gallery in Sauk Rapids.
