Welcome to “Minnesota Moments”!
May you swoon, too, for May and June!
Here at Minnesota Moments, we relish this time of year more than any other.
The sights and sounds and smells of spring and early summer are as rich and vibrant as at any time — maybe more so.
Who isn’t instantly put into a grand mood by the scent of those fragrant lilacs that bloom this time of year and then all too quickly are gone? Don’t dare stay indoors for too long or you just might miss them!
Who isn’t transported by the smell of newly mown grass to some time long ago when life was safer, simpler and more serene? And if you have a couple of golden retrievers to frolic in that grass, you are all the more fortunate.
Nature has so much to offer this time of year — and this season is rife with glorious occasions. There are weddings and graduations to mark the beginning of new journeys for couples and young scholars. And the end of the school year marks the beginning of summer vacation. Ah, summer vacation. Who doesn’t have a favorite childhood memory of a summer past? Was it a time spent in bare feet playing with neighbors or that first summer love?
Then, too, there are celebrations for Moms and Dads to show them how special they have been in our lives.
This time of year also marks the wonderful beginning of backyard gardens and ponds.
Others of us will dust off the golf clubs and softball mitt or bicycle or in-line skates. We will attack the outdoors with a vengeance not seen during the winter months.
Cabins will be opened. Docks will be put in the water. Boats will be shined and cleaned and readied for a summer of fun.
In this issue, you’ll read about many of these topics and more. Let us know what you think by contacting us!
We at Minnesota Moments hope you enjoy this issue as much as you enjoy this season.
